Is it December 2003 yet?

by Urgo on December 18, 2002

Wow, that was great. I laughed, I cried, felt despair and was encouraged. Since I promised not to post any spoilers I’ll just say that I really enjoyed it. There were a few things that were dramatically changed from the book but it worked so I was not mad.
I was wondering how they’d deal with the switching from scene to scene as the different stories were told, and I was impressed with how they got it to flow together.
Also having watched a bunch of documentaries on the extended edition DVD it was cool seeing the new scenes, such as a scene by a stream. Apparently they had one day to shoot this scene where one of the characters had to be in the water. The scene was supposed to take place in the summer but it had snowed that morning! They had to clear up all of the snow and make it look like summer, and IMHO they did a nice job. I knew there was snow there but I didn’t see any. It looked like summer to me.
One other non-spoilerish thing I want to alert people to is the scene after these characters have to turn in their weapons. Look carefully at the walking stick following the turnover. It changes positions in the carrier’s hands from horizontal to vertical as the camera switched from in the front-side to back.
Lastly I want to say sorry to Elliot and Elizabeth for not saving them a spot. I bought 15 tickets myself and was meeting up with about 10 others and I totally forgot about you two. Sorry. 🙁 You should have gotten their earlier. We had a part in the front of the line. sorry ;(
Anyone who has not scene Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers I command you to go see it ASAP. It is worthy of seeing. If you have not seen Fellowship of the ring….. well….. the dvd is in stores now. If you have not read the books then now you have something to do this Christmas. Curl up by the fireside and crack open the masterpiece… or if your lazy, get the audiobooks. =]
Now only a year until the next movie. Can we buy tickets yet?

Somebody yelled out at the end of the Xmen preview. Mike I’ve got a boner now. Which sounds really immature and lame but was really hilarious at the time and everyone got a kick out of it. Yeah and XMen does look pretty good.

Then some woman had a boner too. I wanted to yell that I had three of them as the movie started, but, you know…

That “woman” with the boner was Amy. I use quotes because of the nature of the comment.
Word count
boner: 4

There once was a man from Nantucket.
I think he had a boner.
Hey, isn’t it funny how that the most commented post here is all about … You know … LOTR.
