Stuck In An Elevator!

Yep you read that right today I got stuck in an elevator! After a half day hiking and taking video/pictures with a coworker we stopped at whole foods to pick up some groceries in downtown SLC. As the store was downtown parking was limited so they had a parking garage directly above the store with an elevator running back and forth directly into the store. After shopping myself my coworker and two women (who didn’t know each other) one with 3 kids all entered the elevator to go back up the doors closed and then nothing. We thought we heard it going up at first but after figuring out that it was the one next to us we finally started to understand our situation.

If it weren’t so hot in the elevator things really wouldn’t have been bad at all. We ended up talking after calling for help for the 20 minutes give or take we were stuck there. One of the kids was freaking out a little so I did my best to calm everyone down by assuring them everything would be fine and I myself had actually gotten stuck in an elevator once before.

Finally after everyone really was starting to get hot (and almost after popping open some drinks) the store got the door pried open and we were free! We took the elevator next to it up to the parking garage where they were waiting to hand us $20 gift cards. Not too bad for spending 20 minutes trapped in a box. 🙂
