Geek Week
Well since Russ is sick of my bitching about my car I will keep it brief today. The car has been running beautifully since Wednesday. Nuff Said. Now that the cars all set I have had time to do more geeky stuff. I fixed urgo.org's neomail (chris if you want to use it drop me an email or im), and I am working on getting impmail setup.. a webmail program that displays html email since neomail does not. Another cool addition to urgo.org is the little bandwith thingy down on the left sidebar. Click it and look how much bandwith my server is using. =] You'll also notice (ok maybe you wouldn’t know, but anyway) a new computer listed there, umbar. Today I setup a linux box as a router for Mac's apartment so they can all get on the Internet. It took a few hours but I got it working thanks to a usenet post. In other geek news I got a bunch of coding done on .GET this weekend. I fixed some bugs and began the coding of the router support. This has been a major problem for people so hopefully within a week I'll have a version out that supports it. To end my geek week off today I visited Sean. Sean has been working on a really cool project (along with Pulski's help) of getting a computer installed in his car. He has a PS One monitor mounted up by his radio and the computer in his trunk. He has it setup so he can listen to his 40 or so gigs of mp3s and watch several movies while driving. How cool is that! The computer itself is in his trunk and there are no visible wires running up to the front. He has a # pad and a mouse to control the computer up in the front too. Tomorrow he is getting a GPS system setup in there too on his computer. If I had $800 or so dollars to throw around I think that this would be a great project for my car. Shoot. I talked about cars again russ. And I was bitchin about it too. SORRY! As for gossip.... all I can say is that there might be trouble in paradise.... Nah just kindding. Sorry, fresh out of gossip today. Posted by Urgo at 11:57 PM

Car Warz Episode II: Attack of the Transmission
Now that the phantom speedometer has been fixed the transmission is leaking. I left work an hour early today to have the car place look under the hood to see why the check engine light was on and lo and behold, a puddle appeared on the ground under my car. According to the shop they think that when they fixed the speedometer they didn't tighten the transmission thingy enough.. I hope its that simple. I'm getting sick of writing about my car but that’s whets the biggest news is right now. Tomorrow morning I'm bringing the car back in hopefully just for the day. One of the owners there is going to give me a ride to and from work. By the end of the day I really hope my car is good-to-go. The new radio/tape desk for my car did come in and it looks like it'll be cool. They should be able to put that in tomorrow too. Please please please lets hope I have to wait until may 2004 for episode III. Posted by Urgo at 10:55 PM

Carz
Well here's the scoop. I dropped the car off on Tuesday like I was supposed to do with the expectation that four things would be fixed: 1. Speedometer, 2. engine would be fixed (the check engine thingy), 3. license plate needed more screws, and 4. the new stereo would be installed, oh and 5. the car would be ready by Wednesday evening. Wednesday rolls around and its still not ready... no big deal, Thursday comes and its STILL not ready. I am now told that it would be ready between 8 and 9am on Friday. Turns out that they bring the car in at 9:20 Friday morning. Were my 4 requests filled? Nope. 1. fixed, 2. fixed (we'll get back to this), 3. nope but they had extra screws there, 4. nope.. the guy didn't even know they were supposed to put one in! Well I drove the car Friday and Saturday without any more problems, but Sunday as I was pulling out of the taste of Amherst the check engine light went on again! So whatever was wrong with it is still broken. The only good news is that the speedometer has been working fine now, so they got one thing right. =] Shortly I am going to call Carz and see what’s up with these things. Also I gotta get the car into another mechanic just to give a 3rd party look at it. Posted by Urgo at 01:44 PM

audiophile
Well its Monday evening now and my car is still running fine. Tomorrow morning its heading into the shop to get the speedometer fixed finally. They are also going to look over the engine and make sure it doesn't have a problem, and install the tape desk they promised. w00t. I'll be able to listen to mp3s and audiobooks driving to work finally hehe. Yes, I'm lazy. I listen to books instead of reading. =] Later this week I plan on starting back up with .GET again. It's been a few months since I've touched the code and we've been loosing users. Look for an updated version soon. Posted by Urgo at 09:46 PM

Vroom Vroom Splat!
It is Thursday the 13th now and I still do not own tickets to next Friday's POM/Korn show. =[ I have been suffering listening to 99.3 almost all my waking hours. It's getting annoying hearing the same songs and comercials all the time. I wish I could switch back over to other radio stations, but I just can't risk missing the songs. At work I can listen to the radio too, but its about 1 min (or maybe more) lagged so that makes it even harder to call in to win tickets. Tomorrow is the last day 99.3 is going to be giving away tickets (I think) so I better win them tomorrow! If not I have one last week of chances from 106.9... but they make you guess trivia and stuff. In other news my car is having issues as of late. This morning after I put some gas in and drove a few miles my check engine light lit up. At first I figured it was just on account of the gas cap being loose but it turns out that it was really low on oil and possiably low on transmission fluid too. The oil is fine now, and I'm gonna check the transmission again tomorrow and probally add some fluid, and hopefully everything will be fine.. well except for my spedomoter gadge that still acts like a pinball hammer, or dies completly at times. Well I better end here so you don't have to scroll forver to see foxtrot. =] Foxtrot rules! Posted by Urgo at 11:15 PM

Mondays
Well it looks like this blog thing is working nicely. I’m in the middle of a long day at work right now. Luckily I finally got this streaming thing setup so I can listen to 99.3 from work. It’s important for me to do this since I’m trying to win tickets to the Korn/Puddle of Mud show in Hartford later this month. If anyone has an extra ticket let me know. ;) Posted by Urgo at 01:28 PM
