Bloghouse of Horror Part XXXVII
Happy Halloween everyone. Eat lots of candy, carve lots of pumpkins, dress up in drag.........? Well thats what Brett did tonight. (see picture below) We went to the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Campus Center. [LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAINNNNNNNN!!!] [Left to right: Urgo, Aimie, Brett, Natalie, and Jack in the back.] More pictures can be found at UMass Daily Jolt. Damn, its Thursday already. This week is another one of those weeks that just flew by. The whole semester is flying by. It seems like only yesterday I was moving into my dorm, now the semester is over half, uh, over. It's scary (cheap Halloween reference) how time goes by so fast when you get older. Back 10/12 years ago or so when Halloween was all about getting as much candy as you could and having a fun time doing so time seemed to go so slow, now I close my eyes for five seconds and it's next year already. c'est la vie. (I think thats how you spell what I want to say) Have a safe and happy Halloween everyone, and don't forget to watch new fox/comedy central shows starting this Sunday with The Simpson's Halloween Special! New Episodes of Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, and South Park! Also, competing with the simpsons timeslot and my attention on NBC is American Dreams. It's a pretty cool show that I also like. Hahahaha. Check out today's foxtrot (see bottom of this web page). Jason has the BEST Halloween costume! Posted by Urgo at 01:18 AM

Urgo's Concert Report
Oh. My. Tonights concert was unbelievable. Undeniably the best concert I've been to at UMass, or at all for that matter since I have only been to one (rock) concert not at umass The best word I can use to describe it was meditation. With all the energy from the music I was so enjoying myself. Incredible. Until today I was not a real big tool fan, but just liked some of their songs. The concert transformed me and now I am a big fan. Really no other band that has performed at umass made me feel this way. I liked every song loved how they put on the show. The atmosphere of the crowd was great as well. At the past two shows I was in a similar place in the crowd (about the 8th row from the stage) and it was packed so close that you couldn't move. At this show there was enough room to move around and get into the music. I was also a part of a few Moshe (I dunno how to spell it..) pits which were fun as well. One of the best parts was after the "break" where they broke out with a drum duet. Again, such a powerful experience in rhythm and creativity. Well I am so tired now that it is 3:09am. I am going to take all my great feelings to bed now. Goodnight Brett and Aimie (the two people that went to the concert with me). A lot of other things happened today too, but thats a story for later. [03:09] * Urgo is away: Sleeping... TOOL !*(^*@& RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Posted by Urgo at 03:07 AM

English Tool
Well another busy week is pretty much over. My laptop has been handling very well. I bring it around a lot with me even though it weighs about 10 pounds (counting extra weight of bag and power supply). It has proved useful already, epically for homework nights at Don & Brett's. Speaking of Don and Brett I am considering moving into their apartment next semester. I have enjoyed living in the dorms for 7 semesters so far but I may decide to make the switch to off campus housing for a few reasons. It might actually be cheaper, it has muuuuuuuuuch more room (its amazing what a living room can do for you), its not that far away from campus; epically since I have a bike, I'll be a little more ready for moving into the real world (which hopefully this summer I'll have an internship/job), and more. I still have to think about it though so don't hold your breath. =] Now you might be wondering how I am going to move in there if its full right now. That is because Don and Kat are going to Wales for next semester! Congratz to them. For the past two years I have wanted to goto England for spring break so next spring I think this will be a great opportunity to do that. Anyone else in for it?!?!?!? Lets start doing some serious planning so when Don goes to get his passport we can go to and commit. All-in-All the cost of a trip to Europe is much cheaper then a trip to Mexico or FL. So, if your up for it lemme know. Lastly, as you can see in the current web cam image, TOMORROW TOOL IS COMING TO UMASS! So right now I'm blasting tool to do a little pre-gaming. Also, since "I know the pieces fit", I will be picking up my car tomorrow as well. It has only been, what, A MONTH well three weeks since it broke down, and been in the shop since 10/7. At least the good news is I'm still getting it fixed for FR$$. T00000000000000000000000000L! Posted by Urgo at 06:23 PM

Shallow Dell
Last week a lot of things happened which is one reason why I have not updated in so long. I had two exams which I believe I did fairly well on (yay!). A 311 (algorithms) exam and a 445 [information systems (databases)] exam. Also my group in 320 (software design) had a group presentation to um, present. If those events, and the studding/preparing for those were not enough I also had to get my car taken care of. Monday I had it toed to the person who worked on it last since I thought it was the same thing that went wrong on it again. I am not sure if it is now, and may have made a bad choice in bringing it that far. It has been a week and still I do not have a car. Among all the other excitement last week I also got a great deal on a laptop. $800 for a Dell Inspirion 8000, 1ghz, 20 gig hdd, 384 megs ram, 32mb ati mobility, 1 1/2 years of full service warranty, 8x dvd, etc. I am in the process of getting debian installed and configured on it, but right now only winxp works. The current webcam shot shows the laptop if you'd like to see what it looks like. Well its 2:11am now. I started this blog entry and then watched Shallow Hal. I have been wanting to see this movie since it was in the theaters about a year ago. I think the night I tried to see it it was sold out and I got stuck seeing something so bad (From Hell) that I wish I had never left my room. Seeing the movie finally was great. I'd highly recommend it, and if you were thinking of From Hell forget about it. From Hell needs to go back there. Shallow Hal is a winner. Good night. Posted by Urgo at 02:11 AM

Weekend of Whoa
The weekend oh whoa started early friday morning when urgo.org lost its connectivity to the internet. It turns out that at&t wanted to switch ips on me. Instead of 65.96.45.246 urgo.org is currently @ 24.218.103.37, a more cableish ip. Downtime was waaaaay longer then I wished for and ended up in a reboot.. :( Oh well. urgo.org being down is by far not the most unfortunate part of the weekend. On Friday I was driving with russ to the monthly 2600 meeting in Northampton. We got more then half of the way there when I hear "ding ding ding ding!!!" and look at my temperature gauge and notice it is up all the way.. again! (Am I not supposed to go to northampton? Twice my car overheated on the way to there). I was in stop and go traffic at this time and pulled into the driveway I was stopped at. It turns out that I was right at "Saturn of Hadley" and they were just about to close. They took a quick look at my car and told noticed there was oil in with the coolant..... a broken head gasket..... AGAIN! The good part of this story however is they let me park in their parking lot for the weekend (I gotta get it towed tomorrow), the bus stop (to northampton) is at Saturn of Hadley, and right across the street is AAA. Since I needed a car this weekend to dog-sit at home (my parents went to parents weekend at my brother's college, Ithaca) Martha err I mean Brian was nice enough to let me borrow his car. I wish my car was as cool as his heh. Anyway yeah. So Conway is cool. The rest of the weekend really wasn't that bad. On Saturday I went out to pizza with Big Dan, then to Amherst to get chinh and company (Dan drove) to see a movie (Ballistic.. bad plot, but pretty good movie), then back home. On the way to Amherst we stopped at my car to pick up some stuff I had left in there, but I forgot to take it out of the trunk when he dropped me off! I ended up driving to Sunderland early sunday to pick the stuff up from his car while he was inside some building working. After that I got a bit of reading in and did laundry before coming back to umass. So I guess the weekend wasn't all bad (except for urgo.org/dotget.org/etc being down), just Friday. Friday the 4th is my Friday the 13th I guess. Tomorrows going to suck though. I need to do something about my car. =[ Posted by Urgo at 08:18 PM
