We have come down to the last few hours of 2002. It's amazing how fast time goes by when you are busy as this year seems to have flown by. All-in-all I think it was a good year though. Maybe I wasn't as busy as I thought. :) Anyway, I'm going to be taking off soon for the new years eve party thingamagigie at phluid's so...... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!Posted by Urgo at 08:10 PM

Is it December 2003 yet?
Wow, that was great. I laughed, I cried, felt despair and was encouraged. Since I promised not to post any spoilers I'll just say that I really enjoyed it. There were a few things that were dramatically changed from the book but it worked so I was not mad. I was wondering how they'd deal with the switching from scene to scene as the different stories were told, and I was impressed with how they got it to flow together. Also having watched a bunch of documentaries on the extended edition DVD it was cool seeing the new scenes, such as a scene by a stream. Apparently they had one day to shoot this scene where one of the characters had to be in the water. The scene was supposed to take place in the summer but it had snowed that morning! They had to clear up all of the snow and make it look like summer, and IMHO they did a nice job. I knew there was snow there but I didn't see any. It looked like summer to me. One other non-spoilerish thing I want to alert people to is the scene after these characters have to turn in their weapons. Look carefully at the walking stick following the turnover. It changes positions in the carrier's hands from horizontal to vertical as the camera switched from in the front-side to back. Lastly I want to say sorry to Elliot and Elizabeth for not saving them a spot. I bought 15 tickets myself and was meeting up with about 10 others and I totally forgot about you two. Sorry. :( You should have gotten their earlier. We had a part in the front of the line. sorry ;( Anyone who has not scene Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers I command you to go see it ASAP. It is worthy of seeing. If you have not seen Fellowship of the ring..... well..... the dvd is in stores now. If you have not read the books then now you have something to do this Christmas. Curl up by the fireside and crack open the masterpiece... or if your lazy, get the audiobooks. =] Now only a year until the next movie. Can we buy tickets yet? Posted by Urgo at 11:04 PM
T - 16 hours 20 minutes
Woohoo! The day I've been waiting for a year has arrived! The Two Towers has been officially released. Thousands maybe millions of people right now across the country/coast are watching the midnight showing of Lord Of The Rings. Due to a final at 8am tomorrow morning, and a project at 1:30 I have to wait until the 6:30pm showing, but thats ok. If you haven't seen them check out my tickets. As for finals I have two in the bag, and one left to take in the morning. I think I did ok on them so thats cool. Only time will tell for sure though. =] Oh I can't wait! It's going to be so great. What better way could I celebrate the end of the semester. Today's LAN party at OIT was fun, but this is going to be so much better. Damn, I'm rambling again today. So much stress. But in a day it will be all over. LOTR!!!!!!!! LOTR!!!!!!!!! LOTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well tomorrow after I see the movie I'll try to gather my thoughts and post some sort of a non-spoilerish review. Now though I have to get back to my studding for my morning final. Oh, one more thing. One thing that pisses me off are people who put a price on quality films. No I'm not talking about the movie theater people (I'm lucky to get tickets for $5 usually), nor video/dvd sales people, but scalpers like Tim. Tim won tickets to see LOTR in an advance screening last week but gave up that privilege for $250! Ok, so $250 would be pretty sweet, but it was dirty^H^H^H^H^H Canadian money ;) DAMNIT TIM! I wish I had early tickets. Oh well. Only a few more hours now and I can see it. Posted by Urgo at 12:10 AM

Well busy week one of two is half over now. I got all of my reading done that I needed to do, took an exam, wrote a paper, finished a project, completed two homeworks and probably more stuff that I can't think of off hand. Now all thats left this week is my exam friday morning and some networking labs. Next week however I have exams... fun fun. BUT LOTR IS WEDNESDAY. A WEEK FROM TODAY IN AN HOUR AND A HALF!!!!!!!!!@#!%$!@#%$@#%@#%!@#%!@#%$!@#%$!@#%$@#!%$ In totally unrelated news mordor.urgo.org stopped running seti (Elliott, your gonna pass me by now) and switched to an irc server. Until I upgrade the ram here I can't have them both running. If your bored and want to chat goto irc.urgo.org. =] Posted by Urgo at 04:50 PM

Snow
If you don't hear from me much this weekend it is because I realized just how much work I have to do this weekend. A lab report here, a homework there, some exams, a few projects, some more homework, readings galore, and papers. All my classes ganged up on me and decided to assign things for next week. Oh and one more thing. We have a new addition to the blogroll. http://www.afrosoft.org. Read it up! Posted by Urgo at 11:44 AM

22 Years and counting
As school gears up for the final three weeks it was great to have a little time off this past weekend for thanksgiving. Except for Friday when I worked all day (easy day) I got up at about noon. This gave me a lot of time to catch up on lost sleep, and to bank some sleep for the following few weeks. Also another important event happened today. At exactly 5:30pm today, 22 years ago I was born. If someone wants to give me a birthday present Marth's printer needs new ink cartridges. I just tried to print out the psych paper I wrote Friday and it didn't really work. It came out very very light and in a blueish hue. I even brought blank paper from home which is what the problem with the printer was for the first part of the semester. Posted by Urgo at 07:17 PM
