Trilogy Tuesday Was Awesome

Just a quick entry since I really should be working on my exam right now but Trilogy Tuesday yesterday was so cool.

Timeline
- Arrived at the theater about 11:15am
- There was a car parked in the parking lot with "Mordor or Bust" painted on their back windshield.. soo cool!!

- The line was already fairly long but luckily a few others from the line party were already there saving spots so I got up close to the front.

- Doors opened at 11:30
- We were amazed at how big the theater actually was. Apparently they had oversold one screen so they split us up into two rooms so everyone had great seats. I was in theater 8 and had seats in "the row in front of the bar". Great seats!!
- While we were waiting we took a trip to burger king for lunch and got crowns for the return of the king. :)
- FOTR started at 1:15pm. Just before the movie began 22news came in and filmed a segment for the news that night. You can only see my arm (17 sec) although aylaanne and bonj are visible. aylaanne is also heard on camera saying "lights off!!" (26 secs) Here is a link to download the news clip.
- TTT started at 5:30
- About ten minutes into TTT we got collectible gifts from Weta that were LOTR picture frames with actual film from each of the movies! I'll post more about this later probably.
- Had dinner at the movies after TTT (chicken tenders)
- When ROTK began everyone went wild! I will not post any spoilers here except for saying that the battle in this movie was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much cooler then the one in TTT. If you haven't seen ROTK yet GO SEE IT!! And if you have already seen it I probably don't have to tell you to see it again but I sure will be doing that.

Smile Empty Soul

Well I just got back from the Smile Empty Soul concert and boy was I glad I went. The concert was an invite-only concert, well win-only concert that 99.3 sponsored that was unlike most others. The event was at a local bar in Northampton named Harry's and only about 30-40 people were invited. With this type of crowd the show was very personal and in between every song the band spoke with the crowd answering questions relating to lyrics in their songs and other general aspects of their life.

The whole show was done with acoustic guitars and snare drum so again that made for a more low-key environment. They opened up with Bottom of a bottle, continued on with a first-ever playing of Nowhere Kids acoustically, For You, Silhouettes, and finished up with This is War.

I have been listening to their music since I first heard about them this summer and I was glad I got the opportunity to see them today. After the show ended there was free pizza and the band signed the free cds that they gave out.

I had the chance to ask a few of the members some questions. The most notable question was the following: I asked Sean, the lead singer how he felt about fans downloading their music on the Internet and he more or less said he was ok with it. Sean said that they do not make any money off of the CD sales as the recording company takes any "profit" and puts that money towards their promotional fees. The only thing that record sales do for SES is keep them having a contract with the record label.

I highly recommend buying their CD. It's worth it. =] I think SES is going to be a big band in the near future.

I'm 23. eak. How did that happen?

I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving weekend. I went back home and had a nice thanksgiving with my family. The rest of the weekend went fairly well too. Friday entrained a day at the mall shopping and trying to catch all the sales. I caught at few :) Friday ended seeing Elf in the theater. Good movie.

Saturday and sunday was mostly dedicated to homework as most of this upcoming week will be as well. Except for tomorrow! I won tickets to see Smile Empty Soul from the radio! SES has been one of my favorite bands since the summer so I'm excited seeing them on my birthday.

Anyway, thats it. Today (dec 1st) I turn 23. I feel so old.
