Wow, I bet you thought this blog was dead. Well its not quite dead yet even though its been 10 months since my last real update. Now I don't really think anyone is even checking this anymore, but I figured I'd update you anyway.
As you can see from the new additions on the page, I've been really into YouTube lately, and sort of focused all of my publications (i.e. lack of blogging) in that direction. Most of my current videos are from different events I've been to or trips I've been on (Company picnic, Israel trip, new years party, Long Island Polar Bear Splash.. watch that one if you want to see me jump into the ocean in NY in feb heh) but I'm currently working on an idea for a new series and/or channel/website that at least I think is a cool idea, so look for that in the future.
On a related note, how do you hold a camera and walk and shoot video without having the picture be all jumpy? Anyone know?
So while I'm not busy with YouTube, my other hobby lately is the social news site, Digg. I've been a reader of the site for thee years now, but back in November I decided to start submitting to the site, and let me tell you, submitting opens up a whole new world.
First off, finding quality articles that have not already been posted is a full time job in and of itself, but then learning the ins and outs of the system is challenging, exciting, and also rewarding knowing I helped give back to the community who has been finding the most important news stories for me for so long.
Then there's the people. Since I publish my aim account on my digg profile page and regularly attend the live recordings of the podcast made of the top few submitters to digg I've met a ton of other people who are also big in the social news community. Due to the nature of the of the crowd I've met people from all scopes; from journalists (who I'm sure would have a great deal of criticism of my writing ;) ) to marketers to environmentalists and to other techies. All interesting people.
Anyway, so yeah, YouTube and Digg (check out my video about both of them released for my April fools day joke this year, YouDigg) are what have been keeping me very busy lately and I blame for the lack of updates here. In the mean time, I've also been trying out this new thing called Twitter which is sort of half microblogging half chatting. I'm probably going to be adding my feed to this site somewhere too.. which I *really* need to redesign soon so you should check it out and follow me. With that at least you can keep up with me on a regular basis. ;)
Okay, that's probably enough for the first blog entry in 10 months, so I'm going to cut it off here, and hope to post again even before the month is up! Your challenge, if you chose to accept it, is to get a hold of me and make me update it if I haven't before May is up. :)
Take care everyone

As you may have noticed, over the past month I've started to get into youtube & video editing quite a bit. In the past few days, in order to accommodate that without spamming my blog every time I make a new video, I moved some of the panels around a little and now will have my latest videos will always be on the right hand side. If you have a YouTube account you could always of course subscribe to me as well. =]

Edit: Wow, I can't believe this video became the 11th most viewed video on 2007-07-09 but it did! Thanks everyone for watching it. =]

Happy 4th of July everyone. Today I was planning on spending the afternoon at Jones beach and then catching some fireworks in the evening, but the weather doesn't seem to want to make that happen. It's been a very cloudy and cool day, and reports from the beach say its raining now. So trying to decide if I want to still try to head over there for the fireworks. We shall see!
Anyway, for the past year I've been trying to plan a trip to the Galapagos Islands, and as of June I got it booked! Bonj and I will be going down there for a 10 day boat tour of the islands in September.
In preparation for that, this weekend I splurged and got a High Def camcorder. Right now I'm trying to decide which comunities I want to join online for video sharing. I've joined with the ovious choice, youtube, but haven't been happy at all with the quality of the videos. Below are some sample vids I took with my cam that I posted on divx's Stage6. It does require a divx web player plugin to be installed, and a fast connection, but if you can manage both the videos look amazing! Let me know what you think.
[Edit: Originally I had the following two vids embeded in the page, but it looks like that doesn't work well with stage6 right now, so click the link to see the high quality vid]
